Wining and Dining "Will"

Winin’ & Dinin’ came to Linden Farm in March 2007 when he was 7 years old. He was promptly name “Will” for simplicity.

A client had purchased him to be boarded here, but when her check did not clear, the Owner offered him to Linden Farm, and he has been here ever since. He is a plain bay horse with no distinctive markings. He was retired from racing with a small non-separated fracture of his splint bone. It has not caused him one bit of trouble since he has been here.

In 2009 and 2010 he was Champion with a Youth rider, and in 2011 and 2012 he was Champion Hunter Under Saddle (WTC) and Hunter Over Fences (WTC). And in 2014 He won Reserve Champion Hunter Hack. During 2015 – 2018 show seasons he carried any number of young riders in their first horse shows and always carried them safely pinning consistently although never to a Championship.

In 2019 he was ridden Side Saddle by an adult rider who Championed in Hunter Under Saddle and pinned very well in all classes. He even carried his side saddle rider to a couple of Fox Hunts and at least one Hunter PACE.

He resumed his career as a lesson horse, but in 2023 returned to the Show Ring with a young Junior Rider, Catherine Brown He ended the year as the 2023 Hi-Point OTTB. In 2024, he carried a Youth Rider, Carmela Staton to Champion Youth Division, and Champion Youth Trail. He is showing his age now at 25 but still carries young riders in walk-trot classes. What a great career he has had and what great joy he has brought to so many young riders.
